Applying

HikingTo apply to become a volunteer, just follow these steps.

Step 1 : Fill out our application form and email or fax it back to us, along with two photographs (at least one showing your face so we will be able to recognise you). Please be honest! This will help you to get the most out of your stay.

Files are in .pdf (good for printing out and faxing) or .doc (good for filling in on computer and emailing – save trees!) format. To save the files to your computer, right click on the file you would like and select ‘save target as’.

  • Residential Volunteer Questionnaire [doc][pdf]
  • TVS Social Expectations Form [doc][pdf]

Email completed forms to the volunteer co-ordinator volunteer@tararuvalley.org, or fax to 0064 9 353 1558

Step 2: Once we have processed your questionnaire and there is a place for you, we will let you know if you have been accepted onto our programme. We will confirm your programme duration and dates, attaching the appropriate information. This can take us 7 days, perhaps longer if we are very busy with field projects or extended recreation trips.

Step 3: To confirm your acceptance you will need to make a 50% deposit of your total donation. The balance of your donation is due 30 days before the start of your programme. You will need to fill out a payment form and follow the instructions to get your payment to us:

TararuStep 4: Once you have booked your travel you will need to send us your arrival information, including your airline & flight number so we can arrange your airport pickup.

We’ve also put together the following list to give you an idea of what you will need for your stay:
